For a special alpine experience, treat yourself to a stay in The Smithy – our cosy, timber-lined retreat.
The Smithy can sleep up to six people and has a variety of bedding configurations. It is self-contained with a fully-equipped kitchen, bathroom, and your own private BBQ area to enjoy the views of the beautiful Southern Alps.
The Smithy includes:
• Beautiful timber-lined walls
• Spacious bathroom
• Fully-equipped kitchen
• Queen-sized bed
• Double sofa bed
• Mezzanine floor with two single beds
• Private patio with BBQ
• TV with freeview
This is the oldest building on the property and is aptly named because it was originally used by the local farrier to shoe horses ready for forestry work in the 1940s.
The Smithy is a comfortable and cosy lodge at Alpine Holiday Apartments and Campground – ready for you to enjoy!

Alpine Holiday Apartments and Campground’s Studio Cabins are warm & cosy.
Budget Studio Cabins are suited as a comfortable stopover with bare necessary’s for those that want to explore all that Hanmer Springs has to offer as well as the great dining businesses in the township.
There is the option to book adjacent units for adults who’d prefer to give the children their own separate room, but in close proximity.
Our 4 Budget Studio Cabins come complete with:
• Double Bed
• Single bunks
• Toaster & kettle & fridge. Microwave
• No TV
N.B.- All beds have bottom sheet, pillow & pillow case supplied as standard. You will need to bring own blankets or hire them for $5 a bed.
Camp Kitchen is available (for b.y.o utensils), as well as BBQ.
Cover sheet, duvet and towels can be supplied as an optional extra.
Dogs/pets allowed in rooms for $10 standard cleaning fee. Please advise us when booking.
Kitchen Cabin
Kitchen Cabins are our basic Cabins with kitchen, futon fold down bed with bunk above and a set of bunks in the room.
Kitchen Cabins have full kitchen(hot plates, microwave & Air firer toaster oven), fridge, double bed, and a set of bunks and TV:
Kitchen Cabins have the flexibility to prepare your own meals and works especially well if Mum & Dad take a Kitchen Cabin and the kids are next door in a Budget Studio cabin.
Note: Kitchen and Studio rooms do not have en suite in room.
Apart from the Smithy room, all other rooms are open plan with no separate bedrooms, and all other rooms require Duvet and towels. which can be provided by us at an extra cost. We provide fitted sheets and pillow slips on pillows.
Dogs/pets allowed in rooms for $10 standard cleaning fee. Please advise us when booking.

Our exclusive Self-contained Unit at Alpine Holiday Apartments and Campground comes with nearly everything you need to enjoy your Hanmer Springs retreat.
You have your own bathroom with shower, a fully-equipped kitchen and space to comfortably sleep up to five people.
Your self-contained Unit includes:
• One set of single bunks
• Double bed
• One collapsible camp bed
• Fully-equipped kitchen with fridge, oven, toaster, jug and all crockery and cookware
• Separate bathroom with shower, hand basin and toilet
• TV and Heater
• Table and chairs
N.B.- All beds have full linen supplied as standard.
Cover sheet, duvet and towels.

We have a number of non-powered sites for those looking for a true New Zealand camping experience.
You will have access to all of the campground’s guest facilities including a communal kitchen, bathroom, laundry and gas-powered BBQs.
All campground sites have the use of:
• Spacious grassed sites next to the beautiful Hanmer Forest and all the treks and mountain biking trails it has to offer
• Basic communal kitchen
• Male and female communal bathrooms
• Guest laundry
• Gas powered BBQs
• Campervan and caravan dump station
Powered Sites
We have 14 powered campsites for those looking for a true New Zealand camping experience.
You will have access to all of the campground’s guest facilities including a communal kitchen, bathroom, laundry and gas-powered BBQs.
